The CampusCard is your student ID card for the entire duration of your studies at h_da, the first issue is free of charge. The CampusCard is not a replacement for an official photo ID (identity card/passport).
Changes: Validity date and new layout
Your CampusCard is now printed with a "valid from and to" date. Example: Valid from: 01.04.2018 to 31.03.2019. The layout of the CampusCard has been redesigned. Since the end of the 2018 summer semester, the new CampusCard has been issued to first-time and new enrollees, as well as to persons who require a second ID card.
Benefits of the CampusCard
The CampusCard is also a credit card for paying in the cafeteria (Studierendenwerk Darmstadt). You will find stations for recharging credits in the entrance area.
The CampusCard also functions as a library card with a valid number and barcode. To use the CampusCard as a library card simply:
- Upload the data in the Medienzentrum (media center)
- Supply your address (ID card or passport in combination with the registration form from the local resident registration office or a tenancy agreement), and
- Sign the library regulations agreement. Please inform the library if you change your address!
For additional information please go to the library website.
In combination with your personal ID card, the CampusCard can be used as a ticket for the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) public transport system. The CampusCard is generally valid in all RMV busses, tramways and trains (Regionalbahn, StadtExpress, Regional-Express). It cannot be used for the long-distance express trains such as IC, EC or ICE. For some services you may be required to pay a small additional fee, e.g. for the HEAG-Airliner shuttle to Frankfurt Airport. Your card is valid throughout the RMV-region, which extends from Lützelsachsen (in the direction of Heidelberg/Mannheim) in the south up to the Nordhessischen Verkehrsverbund (NW) in the north. If you would like to travel beyond the RMV network, you must purchase a valid ticket; this can be done at the last station within the RMV network. The CampusCard validation devices also print the new validity period for the RMV.
Your Campus Card (together with your personal ID) also gives you free access to cultural events, e.g. opera, theatre and ballet, recitals, literature performances, etc. Tickets can be obtained at the ticket office as long as seats for the event are still available. Only premieres and symphony concerts are excluded (tickets must be purchased to attend these events). Please contact the AStA at Hochschule Darmstadt for additional information.
The Campus Card entitles you to a €1 discount per ticket at “Cinemaxx” and “Citydome” cinemas if the price of the ticket is more than €4.50.
How to revalidate your CampusCard
You have to revalidate your card eachsemester, since it will only be issued once. There will be a rewritable TRW-stripe on the back, which will be reprinted after your registration payment has been received at the start of each semester. To revalidate your CampusCard follow these simple steps:
1) Pay your semester fee for the next semester.
2) Check if your qis student account noticed that you have already payed.
3) Find the next validation device around campus and simply insert the CampusCard as instructed. The validation device prints a new period of validity within 30 seconds after inserting the card.
