The SSC issues the CampusCard, which is one of the most important documents during your stay in Darmstadt. The CampusCard is valid only when presented together with a personal ID card. It verifies your status as a student at h_da and displays the following information:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Matriculation number
  • Date and place of birth

With the CampusCard you can Pay your lunch in the cafeteria, use public transportation with the Rhine Main Transport Association (RMV) an use the services of the library.

How to revalidate your CampusCard

You have to revalidate your card each semester, since it will only be issued once. There will be a rewritable TRW-stripe on the back, which will be reprinted after your registration payment has been received at the start of each semester. To revalidate your CampusCard follow these simple steps:

1)  Pay your semester fee for the next semester.

2)  Check if your qis student account noticed that you have already payed.

3)   Find the next validation device around campus and simply insert the CampusCard as instructed. The validation device prints a new period of validity (the new semester) within 30 seconds after inserting the card.

Free public transport

In combination with your personal ID card, the CampusCard can be used as a ticket for the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) public transport system. The CampusCard is generally valid in all RMV busses, tramways and trains (Regionalbahn, StadtExpress, Regional-Express). It cannot be used for the long-distance express trains such as IC, EC or ICE. For some services you may be required to pay a small additional fee, e.g. for the HEAG-Airliner shuttle to Frankfurt Airport. Your card is valid throughout the RMV-region, which extends from Lützelsachsen (in the direction of Heidelberg/Mannheim) in the south up to the Nordhessischen Verkehrsverbund (NW) in the north. If you would like to travel beyond the RMV network, you must purchase a valid ticket; this can be done at the last station within the RMV network. The CampusCard validation devices also print the new validity period for the RMV.
