Applications for studying at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences should be sent to uni-assist in Berlin.

When using uni-assist Online-Service for the first time, click on the registration link. If you’ve already registered, please click on the “Anmelden” (log-in) link.

If you are applying for your first semester or a higher one in your first degree, you must send these documents to uni-assist:

Please fill out the application for admission for international students with foreign school-leaving certificates carefully and completely by answering all the questions. Make sure to enter all the details of your education in a curriculum vitae, right from when you started school up to your application to Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.

  • A copy of your passport
  • A copy of the receipt of your payment to uni-assist
  • Official certifications – if the following certificates are not issued in German or English, copies of the certificates in their original language have to be legally attested as does the translation into German (copies). Please see: Translations by state approved translators
  • A complete set of your school-leaving certificates specifying subjects and grades and including all the pages containing text
  • The higher education entrance qualification in your home country (if available)
  • Proof of having studied with details of subjects and grades from your home country
  • Proof of sufficient German language skills
  • Proof of sufficient language skills in English (only applies for degree programmes that require proof of English language skills)
  • Feststellungsprüfung certificate (if you attended a foundation course)
  • An APS certificate (applies to applicants from China, Vietnam and Mongolia)

If you have already studied in Germany or are still studying here now, you also need to send the following documents:

  • Proof of your study history in Germany
  • Master data sheet with all the periods you were enrolled at universities in Germany with the title and type of degree programme, Diplom or Bachelor, total number of semesters, number of semesters spent studying, and any leaves of absence
  • Advanced semester: current printout of all graded course components and a current clearance certificate of your entitlement to sit examinations
  • Current enrolment certificate or disenrolment certificate

If you are applying for a master's degree programme, you must send these documents to uni-assist:

  • Your university certificate (Bachelor or “Diplom”) with graded course component certificates (specifying subjects and grades, credits or ECTS credits). Your certificate must have been issued by an internationally recognised university abroad. The foreign university and, where applicable, the degree programme, must be officially recognised or accredited in keeping with the legislation of the country in question.
  • The examination board of the respective faculty will decide whether you meet the requirements for your chosen degree programme. This has to be recorded in detail and backed up with documentary evidence.
  • Proof of sufficient German language skills
  • Proof of sufficient language skills in English (only applies for degree programmes that require proof of English language skills)
  • An APS certificate (applies to applicants from China, Vietnam and Mongolia)

Please submit only those documents that are relevant to your application. All additional items that are not required for the admission application and are not admission requirements for the desired degree programme e.g. references, photos, module handbooks, references from former employers, police clearance certificates, transparent covers, loose-leaf binders, application files etc. are unnecessary, cost time and money, render the work of uni-assist and ourselves more difficult and do not improve your chance of gaining a place at our university.
